Introduction

This course provides an understanding of contemporary international relations as well as advanced skills in research and analytical thinking. The course is designed to complement existing knowledge gained from an undergraduate education in any recognisedarea including business, humanities, sciences and education.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree in any field of study from a recognised tertiary education institution plus at least one year of work experience. Applicants who have completed the Graduate Diploma in International Relations or the first four units in that course will also be considered for entry.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards 1

A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:

Intermediate Awards II

Graduate Certificate in International Relations; Graduate Diploma in International Relations.

Course Organisation

Students are required to complete at least one third of their program via individual, supervised research projects at an advanced level, developing highly sophisticated skills in research, analysis, communication and reflection.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
