Nature of data in the spatial sciences. Descriptive statistics: measures of central tendency and dispersion - correlation and co-variance. Linear and multiple regression. Error analysis - types of errors and their propagation. Probability distributions.The Normal distribution. Hypothesis formulation and testing - Student, Chi-squared and Fischer distributions, two-way analysis of variance. Introduction to spatial statistics.
