General chemistry involving molecular and ionic equilibria, conductance, EMF and surface chemistry; intermolecular and ionic bonding, trends in the periodic table, d-block and coordination chemistry; reactions and properties of benzene and its derivativesand compounds containing common functional groups. Experiments in gravimetric analysis, purification and separation techniques, reactions of functional groups, chemical and ionic equilibria and buffer systems and pH and conductometric methods.
