Solidification of metals and alloys, phase diagrams, structure of alloys, heat treatment and properties of steels. Dislocations and plasticity of crystals, deformation of metals, heat treatment. Testing of metals, fatigue, creep, failure, joining of metals, corrosion. Wear mechanisms and selection of materials for ore handling and processing machinery.
