Air conditioning system types and applications, moist air properties, air conditioning processes from thermodynamic fundamentals and psychrometric charts. Design and off-design operation. Evaporative cooling. Indoor air quality - comfort and health. Heat gains, solar radiation and heat flow through structures. Heat storage. System design. Space air diffusion. Duct design by various methods. Solar energy for use in building services. Use of A-C design software. Refrigeration systems and refrigerants.
