Exploration of cell membrane composition - membrane potential, membrane transport, movement of water and solutes across epithelia, action potentials, neuromuscular transmission and synaptic integration. Electrophysiology of the heart, skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle. Blood, haemostasis, control of HR and SV, intrinsic and extrinsic regulation of blood flow and pressure, capillary exchange and circulatory patterns. Respiratory mechanics, gas transport and release, chemoreceptors and respiratory control.
