History and basic principles. Staining. Mitosis and Meiosis - crossing over with translocutions/inversions, recombination, numerical and structural alterations. The results of reproduction, where cytogenetics is used and why, ISCN, laboratory safety and laboratory hierarchy. Microscopy - microscopes, counts, staining and banding. DNA - structure, behaviour and reproduction. Image capture and photography.
