General contextual issues of convergence and globalisation, concentrating particularly on understanding the historical and theoretical contexts of globalisation. How globalisation and convergence have impacted on the realms of finance, the media and the social, paying particular attention to how various issues arising from the relationship of the global and the local are negotiated.
