An introduction to component manufacture. Interchangeable manufacture, dimension, form and surface texture. Metal cutting. Cold working processes. Casting. Joining of materials. Fundamental practices of generating and copying as applied to machine tools. Students undertake a project encompassing all the above manufacturing and assembly techniques.
