Policy studies in education - definitions, scope, methods. Comparative education - theory and practice, landmark inquiries and reports, roles of government in education. Contemporary issues - national curriculum, national standards, privatisation, education and employment, liberal and vocational in schooling, industrial relations and school teachers. One major policy study in a field relevant to individual student interests and needs.
