Heat Exchangers. Evaporation. Filtration. Settling. Centrifuges, Cyclones. Distillation. Air Cooling, humidification and refrigeration. Gas/liquid contacting. Comminution. Capital costing. Introduction to basic electrical and electronic theory to understand the functions, applications and limitations of electrical/electronic components and systems. Professional ethics and the chemical engineer's responsibility to society - awareness of the role. The importance of chemical engineering to maintaining our standards of living and emphasis on the responsibilities, to both society and the environment.
