Introduction to the various sub-disciplines of psychology, the structure and functions of professional bodies relevant to psychologists, and two fundamental aspects of applied professional practice- the Code of Ethics and the 'scientist-practitioner' paradigm. Theoretical models which underpin professional practice in each of the sub-disciplines are presented. Students are also introduced a range of tools and technologies necessary to practice effectively as a psychologist.
