MSc(Curtin)

Introduction

This research course provides an opportunity to undertake a significant study in a range of science fields taught by Curtin College of Higher Education at the Kalgoorlie Campus. Research and thesis topics will be chosen from areas of continuing or emerging significance.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Entry requires completion at a recognised tertiary institution of a degree of Bachelor in relevant branches of science, engineering or computer science with first or second class honour, or a postgraduate diploma in a relevant discipline. Completion of abachelors degree with a superior performance, which together with relevant and substantial work experience may also meet entry requirements. Refer to Regulations for the Degree of Master (By Research) in the General Information section of the Curtin Courses Handbook.

Duration and Availability

The course is three years full-time or equivalent part-time study. External study is also available. This course is offered through the Curtin College of Higher Education at the Kalgoorlie Campus in both semesters.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.

Special Note

It is a requirement that two-thirds of this course is undertaken by research and only one-third by coursework.
