Introduction

This course addresses the need of the professional engineer in pursuing a higher degree both by recognising their experiences and time constraints. Students attend course topics, intensive block programs and resource based learning through distance education mode.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) or equivalent degree majoring in Electrical Power. In addition, proof of employment associated with power industry or at least one year experience in the power industry is required, if not currently employed.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Recognition of prior learning may be granted to a student transferring from another program at a recognised institution, with satisfactory completion of equivalent coursework and or with proof of professional training or substantial work experience gained in industry, not exceeding two thirds of the required credits.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is one semester full-time duration or equivalent part time-study.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
