PGradDipSocWelfare(Curtin)

Introduction

This course provides graduates with perspectives appropriate for work in the social welfare and community service fields. Selection from a variety of core and optional units provide an opportunity for specialisation. Addiction studies and social gerontology are offered in conjunction with the Division of Health Sciences.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelors degree or equivalent.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is one year full-time or equivalent part time study. Some units may be available externally.

Course Organisation

Students select three optional units, one of the three areas of specialisation and sufficient elective units.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.

Special Note

Students considering articulation of this course with a Master program should clarify entrance requirements with the Graduate Studies Coordinator, School of Social Work and Social Policy.
