Syllabus: | This unit provides students with a brief overview of the history of land development in Australia. It identifies and discusses the roles of key stakeholders, consultants and government agencies involved in the land development process. The relationship between local infrastructure plans, local planning policies, town planning schemes and planning policies in Western Australia are examined, including their relationships within relevant jurisdictions. The application of R codes in conjunction with the Design Codes Policy in Western Australia are covered in detail, demonstrating their importance as principles for sound subdivision design. The land development process is documented from application to the approval of title, also covering economic and feasibility considerations for small-to-medium-scale subdivisions, achieving positive outcomes during the subdivision process and providing an overview of the lodgement procedure and conveyancing requirements. The unit also introduces students to the different types of land tenure. |
