Syllabus: | Dynamic Electrochemistry: Measurement of dissolved species in solution using electrochemical techniques. Electrode/Solution interface. Electron transfer, Mass Transport, Cyclic Voltammetry. Chronoamperometry. Mass Spectrometry Techniques: Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry, Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry; theory and practice of modern mass spectrometry in both atomic and molecular analysis illustrated by example drawn from environmental, forensic, health and food science. Scanned Microscopy Techniques: Optical Microscopy, confocal Microscopy, Raman Effect, Scanning Probe Microscopy. Electroanalytical Methods: Polargraphy and the dropping of mercury electrode. Pulsed Voltammetry. Stripping voltammetry. Microelectrodes, nano electrodes and sensors, Electroanalysis at the liquid-liquid interface. |
