MINU-PROPT v.1 Property Investment Minor
Minor Overview
Minors prepare students to develop broad knowledge about an additional discipline area that complements their study in an award course.
This minor is designed for students seeking to gain foundational knowledge specific to the property discipline.
Professional Recognition
This property minor will not be eligible for Australian Property Institute (API) membership at the Certified Practicing Valuer (CPV) level.
Minor Entry and Completion Details
Students undertaking the B-ARTS Bachelor of Arts or the B-COMM Bachelor of Commerce may be eligible to study a minor (100 credits) where the course includes a minimum of 100 elective credits. Credit permitting, students can elect to study a maximum of two minors, provided minors are from a different discipline area to the course or major being studied. Refer to the ‘Rules for Minors’, located under ‘Minors’ in the ‘Definitions’ tab of this Handbook.
A minor of the same description cannot be studied in combination with a major of the same description (these are listed as anti-requisites); students completing the MJRU-PROPT Property Major (BCom) AND MJRU-PROPV Property Development and Valuation Major (BCom) are excluded from this minor.
Minor Entry/Completion Note
Students wanting to study a ‘minor’ within their Bachelor Degree must have the equivalent credit as elective units within their course and meet the Minor rules and associated policy and procedures (refer to the ‘Rules for Minors”, located under ‘Minors” in the ‘Definitions’ tab of this Handbook.) Students wanting to study a minor should contact the Student Services Office to request an amendment to their study plan. It is important that this request is made no later than the final semester of the student’s course and within the University enrolment deadline. A minor cannot be added to a study plan or awarded retrospectively after the student has completed the requirements for the course.
