Syllabus: Materials and inventory management as part of the logistics process. Planning and control of inventory, purchasing, procurement and production. Warehousing and storage. Just-in-time (JIT), materials requirement planning (MRP), distribution requirements planning. Supplier selection, evaluation and outsourcing. Measurement and evaluation of materials management activities. Integrating materials management, transportation and order processing logistics functions.
