Registered full-time Duration for International Onshore Students on student visas: 1 Year

Introduction

This master’s course is essentially a higher degree programme specifically designed for graduates with Bachelor of Mechanical engineering Degrees from overseas allowing them to acquire an Australian postgraduate qualification in mechanical engineering. This programme is not available for bachelor of mechanical engineering graduates from Australian universities. The course of study spans over one year or two teaching semesters involving 6 selected course units and supervised project work with a thesis. The study programme is available only on Full-time basis and requires students to undertake units equivalent to 100 credit points per semester of study.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Applicants for consideration must have Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree at honours level (or equivalent) from a recognised overseas university. Mechanical engineering graduates from Australian universities are not eligible to apply. The Department may evaluate applications from graduates in other mechanically-related engineering disciplines, but such cases will be considered on a case-by-case basis for admission.

Recognition of Prior Learning

The recognition of prior learning is not available for this course except through articulation arrangements with overseas universities. Previous work experience is not counted towards recognition of prior learning.
