Syllabus: Introduction to biopsychosocial processes within a Behavioural Health Science framework applied to nursing. Individual responses to illness and factors influencing responses. Personality, information processing including perception and cognitive processes. Emotion and Motivation. Nature/nurture explanations. Psychological health and well being, including stress and coping. Introduction to psychological disorders. Behavioural change strategies for chronic condition self -management.
