312177 v.1 Professional Writing Major

Introduction

This major prepares students for writing careers in the private, public and creative sectors through the study and practice of a range of different writing forms, including feature articles, speeches, reports, discussion papers, travel writing, history, humour, writing for the Internet, promotional writing, creative non-fiction, and media releases.

Major combinations within the BA

Students choosing this major within the Bachelor of Arts degree will also choose another or an elective stream. Choosing a second major allows students to study in an additional discipline area. Choosing an elective stream allows students to undertake further study in the discipline of their first major or choose from a variety of units from around the University. Combinations of majors are listed in the handbook at http://handbook.curtin.edu.au/courses/31/311921.html.
